Common sensors placed on trucks

2024-08-20

In a truck, there are various types of sensors. The first type includes temperature sensors such as cooling water temperature sensor, intake air temperature sensor, and exhaust temperature sensor. The second type consists of pressure sensors including oil pressure sensor, fuel pressure sensor, common rail pressure sensor, and brake pressure sensor. The third type comprises position sensors like camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, and steering wheel angle sensor. Additionally, there are speed sensors (wheel speed and engine speed), level sensors (fuel level and brake fluid level), environmental sensing sensors (cameras, lidar, millimeter wave radar, ultrasonic sensors), as well as other sensors such as air flow sensors, acceleration sensors, oxygen sensors and nitrogen oxygen Sensors.

Among these various types of sensors mentioned above is the nitrogen oxygen Sensor which is one of Syhower's main products. It utilizes electrochemistry to accurately measure the NOx content in automobile exhaust gases by measuring current size. In trucks equipped with diesel engine SCR systems,NOx Sensors play a crucial role in reducing NOx emissions.

The NOx Sensor consists of a probe and an electronic control unit (SCU) connected by a harness with a ceramic chip installed in the probe. In practical application, the probe is installed in the vehicle's exhaust pipe to measure the concentration value of NOx in the exhaust gas which is then fed back to SCU in form of current. The SCU communicates through CAN bus to send real-time measured gas values to the vehicle's total control center(ECU),providing basis for adjusting urea amount sprayed by SCR system.
